The Denner Collection

I had the incredible opportunity of working alongside the team at Kelsey Leigh Design Co. as they so beautifully designed Nuuds founder, Daryl-Ann Denner’s, home. Below you’ll find reproductions of the art that resides in the Denner home. If you would like to view more of Kelsey & her team’s incredible work throughout this home, follow this link.

The landscapes in the kitchen were creating using an impasto technique—heavy texture made with palette knives, allowing the brush strokes to play a large part in the composition of each piece. From mountainscape to seascape, each painting held a subtle nod to the Denner’s family love of traveling, while also creating a calming presence in their kitchen (which so often hosts many gatherings of family & friends). On top of her business, Daryl-Ann is well known for her welcoming presence as she is an open book on Instagram, bringing all her followers along— showing the day-to-day, the beautiful & the crazy. I’m so honored that these pieces of art reside in a space that is full of love (& real life ;) )

The sketches below were SO fun to make. As an artist, a creative, getting to shift & use another creative part of your brain is such a wonderful gift.

We were aiming to combine “Rhett will LOVE this” + “still fits the overall design of the home”. I’m maybe biased, but I think we nailed it. The sketches of the trucks & dinosaurs are simple in nature, but we added textural elements to elevate & exciten the composition. The sketches are done on raw canvas, using pen & ink, white charcoal, high-flow acrylic, & a pumice mixture to represent dirt. Although printed reproductions, I have added the option to ‘embellish’ the sketches when purchasing— if chosen, I will add the same pumice mixture on top of the prints making them almost indistinguishable with an original.

& lastly, this lovely abstract pairing on the way to the Master Suite— these pieces are full of textural elements and details throughout, combined with the sconces, curated under the arch, to create beauty, interest, & balance.
